HANDOVER-ACCEPTANCE TESTING OF THE EQUIPMENT OF THE LOWER LEVEL OF THE PROCESS INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR UNIT № 4 OF ZAPORIZHZHYA NPP HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT

On 20-21 February 2018, the handover-acceptance testing of the equipment of the lower level of the process information system (IVS) for unit № 4 of Zaporizhzhya NPP was carried out at the site of PJSC “SRPA “Impulse”, the equipment was created within the framework of implementation of the “Complex (Consolidated) Safety Upgrade Program for NPP Units” project using credit funds of EBRD/EURATOM.

IVS is the main facility to monitor unit’s technological processes that assures centralized monitoring and control from the main control room (MCR). The following is done from MCR: reactor start-up, its putting to the power mode, turbine start-up, generator synchronization, unit control in the normal and emergency modes, reactor and turbine planned and emergency outage, reactor facility shutdown cooling.

The aim of the handover-acceptance testing of IVS was as follows:

  • to define if IVS meets the requirements of the terms of reference, the design documentation, the normative documents covering this class of products;
  • to assess readiness of IVS to be supplied to NPP to be installed and commissioned.

Based on the results of the handover-acceptance testing, the commission consisting of representatives of ZNPP, State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of Ukraine, State Enterprise “Kharkov Scientific-Research Institute of Integrated Automation”, and PJSC “SRPA “Impulse” stated that the equipment submitted for the testing meets the NRS norms, rules and standards, the requirements of the terms of reference and is ready to be supplied to unit 4 of Zaporizhzhya NPP.

SRPA “Impulse” is a leading Ukrainian designer, manufacturer, and supplier of highly-reliable instrumentation and control systems for nuclear power engineering and railways.
